Hope not, £245 is bad enough, although this one i have opted for half year as my insurance falls the same time, so will now be staggered

Yes, it is just a concession. Have decided already to SORN mine this winter. The (ex) government has won, one less V8 on the road. Well, actually no, just means that the other V8 gets used more and I save money.
Note: 2009 and 2010 concession
All cars with a CO2 value over 225 and first registered between 1 March 2001 and 23 March 2006 will be capped at band K during 2009 and 2010

PS. Just had a quick look and I would be looking at £780 in the Netherlands for the 260, so not too bad here

I still think that they should issue the disk as a proof of MOT only, although that should not be an issue these days, and put the duty on fuel. Those who use more pay more. Would benefit weekend and classic car drivers. You could have a fleet of 260's then

My 260 is my dailey drive and i cover 300 to 400 miles per week. Uses a drop more fuel than my 06 plate CDTi did. On the subject of road tax my cdti was in a higher band due to being an o6 plate. While I can still aford the fuel I will enjoy my new car. If my situation changes I will have to rethink it but at least i will have enjoyed the v8 burble. vroom vroom
