1 - drive by wire throttle pedal. Driven by a Nut.
2 - returnless fuel system. Put it in the tank never to be seen again.
3 - ecu/pcm. Every Car Unique/Pure Crazy Motor.
4 - a/c system. Windows open to hear exhausts.
5 - manual gearbox. The only way!.

i own this off a mustang.
1 - so its a different pedal to
but does it share the same block connection?
2 - the returnless system. the mustang has a varible pressure ecu/blackbox controlled fuel pump. it goes to the connection on the n/s rail (in the red box).
and there is no return to the fuel tank. is the mg the same?
3 - does the ecu/pcm (pcm is powertrain control unit) have conections that look like;
4 - did any mg's come without a/c?
5 - what manual gearbox is it then? the mustangs is the Tremec TR3650.
6 - the evap goes from the fuel tank to inlet (the blue box in the above picture) via a big canister and a solenoid.
ta.
On the gearbox, actually I thought it was the same box (Tremec 3650) as certain Mustang models such as the 2003 Mach 1 a friend of mine has. MG changed the ratios to make 5th a bit shorter but otherwise I think it's the same box.

1 - No (Only the S-197 (2005-on) Mustang has a drive by wire throttle
and this Mustang does'nt use the 2 valve motor as fitted to the ZT260
3 - I believe that the ZT260 does use the Ford managament computer,
but it also has an MG/Rover piggyback? module.
5 - Yes the box is the same, exept the higher output Mustangs
(GT 500) etc use the 6 speed Tremmec T-56 (although I think they
call it something different now?)

On a serious note, should we have someone look at a healthy one to copy codes etc. I know nothing about these things but I might assume each one may have it's own unique codes, so should we all have copies made of our own??
Sorry stabbing around in the dark a bit, but as Phil says it may be the achilles heel in all our cars and perhaps it is something we could (should?) plan for.
With a bit of luck someone here will have a technical understanding of what's involved and advise accordingly.
