You have to be lucky and patient. I know I was VERY lucky a year ago to buy my LHD "Olive" for around £3k (R75V8 Conny, lots rarer) even though she has 200k miles on the clock. Goes like a train, and Nick say's the condition is 'unbelievably good'. Waited 4 years to find her and bought her on the telephone, unseen, less than 5 minutes after the internet posting. Dealer didn't know what he had. 6 people waiting in line in case I said "no" when I picked her up, so they could bid for her.
In 1970 I bought a Lotus Elan S3, found in a factory outbuilding about to be bulldozered for Spaghetti-Junction for 300 quid; unseen again, and discovered it was intact and had only 5k on the clock.
Moral? Sometimes the gods do look down on you; generally not!
David.
