Its got the wrong alloys on (too weak). Bargaining tool.... also a querying tool, eg, Why were they changed?
Ian
the alloys that are on it are fine, its the hairpins that are the weak type for the 260's

Pretty sure that Grid were not approved for the V8...
I've seen a couple of V8's with them, its also on the monogram option list for the 190 and 260.

Don't know about those, but I always thought it was these sort that weren't strong enough? Where's the Rince when you need him?

You might be right - although it's not in my monogram book(let)...
In the brochure it certainly doesn't say that they're NOT an option for the 260...so perhaps they were. I had it in my head that the only 'approved' wheels were the 2 types of straights, Apex and Vortex (RV8)...there might be some other RV8 wheels that I'm missing...some 17s?
I remember seeing some weights of the wheels somewhere and if that is anything to go on (which it might be...)...then the hairpins (which I know are not approved) really were the lightweights and the straights the heaviest with grids somewhere in-between...so...
...I'm not keen on the grids anyway......
err.... yeah... too many wheels, I get confused easily
Someone should make an alloy thread with pics and names of each type of MG wheel for the ZT range
Ian
As I understand it the hairpins (Reverie158 picture) are the only wheels which are not approved for the V8. The grids are okay but, being a snob, they were standard on the ZT120. Why would you want someone to think you are in a 120.

Some men see things as they are and say why - I dream things that never were and say why not.
they were also fitted to the diesel
