Mine Black Betty springs have done well over 5k miles possibly 10k miles now... Iit did 3.5k miles across europe with a fully loaded boot and it never caused a problem! Only thing is you have to do some speed bumps a tad slower or staggered.... Has passed 3 mot's now I think with them on so definitely not a problem.

You could allways put some rubber in the bottom of where the spring sits and raise the car maybe 10-15 mm. If I remember correctly the springs sit pretty deap in the holder so should not be a problem raising it a bit.
There is no substitute for cubic inches!
