There are other reasons to turn off auto locking: I had my car in for an MOT last month (not with an MG specialist). With the engine running, up on a lift and the doors closed, the mechanic spun the wheels. Hmmm, guess what happened... And I was 60 miles from home without the spare key. Eventually one of the other mechanics in the garage managed to get into the car (the bonnet was up and he said he'd managed to reset something, which had opened the central locking - no idea what exactly). The MG is not exactly the only car with this feature - you think they'd know not to do that! Anyway, I'll always remember to take the spare key when I get the car worked on.Originally Posted by guymaathuis
