    Default Coats of paint

    Those interested,

The water based paints have more solids - hence the one coat. There are two "primer" coats applied. The first is a filler type and the second is a "gripper". The final water based top coat also includes about 5% solvent. This is followed by either one or two coats of laquer.

Judging from the posts, though, water based is not to most people's taste.

    regards,

    Kev

I think in the Rave disc on the Std ZT it gives details of what paint, fillers ,protection ect has been put on the cars, i would have thought the 260 would be the same

    Default Paint finish

If you know anyone who works for the AA and does AA inspections they have details of all manufactures paint year by year and measure paint depth and finish as part of a full inspection to compare with factory specification.

    Nigel,

Trouble is, I don't have a rave CD to explore. Can you have a read and post the main points (for this topic)?

    regards,

    Kev
