If everything else stacks up I wouldnt let it be a showstopper, at 5000 miles the oil is coming out as clean as it went in

Hi, thanks for all your comments re the extended oil change. I have now bought the car subject to handing over the money and agreeing a collection date with the current owner once the cherised plate is transferred.

Dave, in answer to your question re what one its 187, a members car on this site. It was after hearing your V8 when I came to test drive your ZTT 190 back in Feb that I got the bug. As a result of driving your ZTT I have ended up with a very low mileage 75 diesel tourer and a 260 to add to my MGF Abingdon VVC, as you may have guessed I am a Rover/MG fan.

I look forward to joining the club proper once I have got the 260 in my paws. Regards John

I recall Rincewind posted that when MGR were testing they felt that they could go a lot longer than 5,000 mile changes, but Ford were having none of it!

Can't recall how far they were willing to take it.

The current owner could have done his own oil changes of course, so it might not be as 'bad' as you are thinking...
