Ah so would take me about a week then
Sometimes I wish I'd taken Tim's approach - don't get it dirty in the first place
Colin Ellis #456 It'll be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end
couple of hours i would say. just leave the engine cleaner on a bit longer on the dirty bits, or try some GUNK

Here's a wee bit of cleaning last weekend over I suppose a very gentle 2.5 hours. I would NOT recommend heating the engine or doing anything with the engine running at all...too dodgy.
I started with a general gunk then a very quick power wash (cold). This lets you down the sides of the inner wings area.Start engine and let it warm up to dry things off.
Set to with a dash cleaner on all the rubber bits.A bit of silver Hammerite smooth here and there with a nice long cheap artists brush and also a wee bit of black for the pulleys and thats it.
The eagle eyed will have spotted that this is a dual-fuel car ! Autogas conversion from new. Runs like a dream with economy of a diesel !
I lovit.
Dave
looks very good!
