    Bought this as a spare from SMC but not used.

    That is VERY good to know - it's always been my concern that it'll be the electronics that kill our motors

    My thoughts exactly, I guess any circuitry can be re- manufactured as all components eg chips, capacitors, transistors etc are probably standard issue,
    only downside may be the programming, telling the thing what to do
