I'm not desperately worried about costs, but given this car is going to be a future classic (here's hoping) then it seems a bit manic to clock up the miles on it, as opposed to just enjoy.

    any thoughts?

I use mine every day and for work (I'm a painter) Sure I'm going to be more careful but hay I feel that the car was built to be driven and the engine is good and strong for a lot of miles, fuel might hurt a bit but no pain no gain a smile on my face every time I fire her up, I look forward to getting up. Can't beat it Martin

At my age I don't suppose that I'm going to be around by the time that they achieve classic status but I don't buy a car to look at it anyway.

It's my everyday car but we do have a Rover 75 V6 also on LPG so running costs are sensible for both cars.

It's just a scramble who gets out of the door first to grab the V8.

I've used mine on my personal 'school run' 3 miles each way to the station each day - no probs - the car car do it. Mind you, on a proper school run with all those eejuts in 4WDs - eeeek!

I have used mine every single day since I have owned it. I have covered over 30k in 2.5 yrs and the previous owner another 30k. I bought it to drive it not park it in the garage wondering if it would gain classic status and rise in value.
I suppose there are people out there that buy a car in the hope it will rise in value, but shouldn't you buy a car to drive? I think what you have to ask yourself is do you want a 260 to drive, or a car that will appreciate in value? Whats your main reason for buying?

Had one little hicup, the throttle flipped over and stuck open on the way back, which almost made me soil myself! Is that common?
