Given the attitude towards non full members repeatedly raising this point, when I get my 260 I shall not bother to fully register at all.

Seems a shame to take that sort of attitude, what's called "cutting your nose off to spite your face" I would have thought. The fact that non members have access to the site and the wealth of information contained therein is a good thing, they can ask questions of other members and in my experience receive lots of information and responses from a very supportive friendly bunch of people. The fact that they cannot access images and some parts of the site must be frustrating but understandable, surely even non members like you must be able to see the benefits of restricted access to what is essentially a niche market club, to give open access to all and sundry would undoubtedly cloud the focus of the club and lead to much more interference from posters who do not share the same common interest.

If and when you ever buy a 260 you will need full access to the site even more and will, I suspect, appreciate and value its limited access.

    Hi All

I have to agree it does appear to be daft not being able to view the pictures even if you are try to purchase a 260. However you can always find a way round the problem if you wanr to. Ask seller to post pictures in open forum, email you direct is just two ways. Its still a very usful site for owners of some one wanting to find out about the V8 /260 before purchasing one. Keep up the good work and a

I must say that as an potential buyer I fail to understand the logic of restricting access to images.
The whole purpose of posting images is to lure purchasers and yet they are the very people that can't see them.
I am a member of about 20 lists or sites, mainly MG related, and this is the only one that has this peculiarity.
Usually the process of registration is sufficient to become a welcomed and trusted member.
I am sure being a full member has its benefits and I hope that one day I can enjoy them but by then I won't need to see pics of cars for sale.
Best wishes to all for a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
    Regards,
    Bob.

I can understand where you boys are coming from but the forum's primary role is to owners of these lovely cars. Bods looking to buy get assistance with questions, queries and investigations into the car they may be wanting to buy. This site was never created to be a general public site, the likes of .org, xfp and 75&ZT club are the general interest sites and do this job well. We will look into how we can make your stay more informative but the general rule of limited access will not change.

Because of what we do and how we do it means that when you do get your V8's you will be assured of a well informed knowledge base of owners, mechanical engineers, MGOC, willing to help when you need it.

for non members to have the rights to as much information as paid MGOC members is unfair as i'm sure everyone will agree, so the likes of people slating the site for the membership status i don't think understand what our club membership involves. I've been a member for close to 4 years now and like to believe i have contributed greatly to the site, those wanting to be members need to understand more about the site and its involvement with the cars and MGOC

I think you are missing the point I am not saying I want the same access as you. It just makes sence to be able to view the pictures posted if you are looking to purchase a 260. I am sure a lot more of us would become a paid up memeber if the access was granted.

    As per other post:
We would get too many posts of non owners trying to help.

If information on a specific challenge for a prospective buyer is needed, they can ask question in the open threads, we will still give away a few secrets to help
