    Smile Fuel Gauge

In addition to my flickering lights, the fuel gauge does its own thing, this is not usually a problem as I refuelled every 250 miles but I have now had the car converted to LPG as I am doing 1k a week, so my simple calculation won't work as well.

Is this a normal fault, so to speak? Any clues anyone?

Not normal at all. It seems to be electrical based. I know you have had comments relating to the battery earth so would follow that through but would also check the BCU and boot battery well for water leaks.

    Tim,

Thanks, I have checked the battery area and all is dry, not sure what the BCU is or where it is! Sorry to be so ignorant. I have cleaned the earth to the battery and body but still the lights flicker too, every time they flicker I get the bulb failure gizmo light up.

As an aside, the LPG conversion is great, nearly 240 miles fo less than £30!
