We know there are plenty of early cars around which for one reason or another didn't get registered until much later, but they are Mk1 cars, not Mk2. We also know of a few which do have a bit of a mixture from around the swap over time.

I would imagine the guy is aware of this, but not the reasons for it, so has cobbled this crap together instead?

I have just dropped him a line to ask him if he still has the original factory fit wheels. Given the rest of his claims, I wonder what the answer will be?

ETA - He's quick in his response, I'll give him that! He reckons they were fitted as a factory upgrade. I may be wrong, but I'm sure I remember Rincewind saying only the straights and the Apex were tested for the 260?

Neil Whilletts solar red 260 had them but he asked for them as an option I believe.

Default MG ZT 260 for sale with LPG

yes it is an LPG switch above the cig lighter as i now have this car in stock for sale @ £8,450 with 63k miles, FMGSH @ www.elitecar.co.uk

The prevoius owner bought it from me last year for £11,500 and it has been traded back in for a peugeot 407 ! i have had many of these and i am not sure where he got his Cobbled together info from (not me), as you say maybe "pub talk". having had many of these for sale from 03 -05 build the very last ones had some strange spec / options but they were always built as MK2's from 04 onwards.

The Grid Spoke Alloys were fitted from new @ MG as a factory option (were in original factory option brochure) as were the memory seats. The LPG was fitted in 2006. yes car still has X Powers and now Bluetooth phone kit

    regards

further to above ref the "cobbled together" remarks, i note "baldybloke's" comments (sorry i dont know your name) and i take onboard your comment about not buyng a car from me (elite) but feel its a bit unfair as you dont know me or my company. it maybe best to get your facts 100% right before you put it on an open forum, as the statement about the cars being assembled with odd parts etc you have printed was actually from a salesman @ SMC MG dealer and not me. so it was an employee of an MG specialist that was stating that, probably so purchasers would only buy cars from an MG dealer and not independants like myself. i believe that SMC MG did actually buy a block lot of unreg V8 260's from the receivers but i dont know whether they were completed cars or not ?

i have sold over 25 of the ZT / ZTT V8's since 2005, so i have got to know this particluar model quite well and think they are a superb under rated car and shame they stopped making them.

i had one myself last year for 6 months and loved every moment with it. only fault i would say is the T/Control is a little crude in operation but car is more fun with it turned off

    regards

Apologies JB - your comments noted. I did say I didn't want to cast any aspersions. Perhaps I read too much into the cobblers comments. If you've sold as many 260s as you say, then you probably know more about them than I do (not difficult). I think I'll go and hide under a rock for a while. Engage brain before gob next time...

    Default Mg Zt Lpg

    Mark

Thats okay, just wanted to get the facts straight and get my 10 pence worth in. i think its all got exaggerated along the way from pub to pub and ended up stating the cars having been cobbled together !! not even BL used to do that !!

anyone have any idea whats the a good make for front pads and discs and where from for a 260 V8 ? as i believe they are slightly different form the ZT V6 190 brakes ?

    regards

    JB

the front pads and discs are the same as the 190, the only difference is that the caliper is mounted the other way round, behind the disc instead of infront
