    Default Owners of Red 160/190

Are you looking to change to a V8 260? If so PM me. A man called John is looking to swap his mk2 standard solar red 260 for a solar red 160/190, cash either way. John is finding it difficult to get on with the RWD now. He is around the Newbury area. John took his car to Brooklands and Tenderton so some of you may have seen him.

Reason I'm acting for John initially is his lack of computer communication abilities.

What a pity my 190 is silver. I would be interested in doing a deal against that 260.

I have been looking for a new one. There was still a few knocking around last year, but all sold now!

Actually got my eye on a lovely solar red 55 reg 260 with 16,000 miles on the clock at Monty Smith Penarth for £9995. So I may advertise my 190.

My car was registered 01/03/2007 making it a rare 07 reg. Was the last 190+ registered. Is in lovely condition with 14,000 miles

Is the standard plus facelift model with dual zone climate control, 4 x Electric windows, 6 CD autochanger, and boot lip spoiler. Only extras are rear parking sensors and upgraded Kenwood head unit

Just had first sevice at SMG Rover Bristol. Will have new 12 months road tax and wont require an MOT untill March 2010 !!

Really need to drive my ZT.. It's spot on just how a 190 should drive !!

I have owned 4 KV6's to date. Fantastic cars, but would love to own a V8

Well if John is interested or any one else with a nice 'late' low mileage 260 please let me know. Or if any one knows for a new unregistered car.

Had the wheels professionally refinished gunmetal grey to contrast with the starlight silver paintwork. Wouldnt mind keeping them. would be happy to swap with the standard wheels from the 260.

    Nick.

What wheels are they? There are wheels in the ZT range that are not rated for use on the 260...

Good luck with your 260 hunt

They are the standard 11 spoke alloys as fitted to both the 190 and 260 as standard equipment. Optional throughout the rest of the ZT range. The 190 also shares the same bigger brakes as the 260 lifted from the BMW 330i.

Ahh yeah, I can see the pics now. Pictures never load at work...

The other thing to consider about the 07 260s is the Tax band. The ones pre 07 fall into the same band as the 190 so its not too bad at £210, the ones registered late will fall into the band above. And that bad is being hit hard by tax (300ish?), and even harder next year.... (400ish?)

Luckily there are a lot of 260s that have very low miles for the age so I'm sure you will find a next to new car even if its on 04/5/6 plates. Worth considering, depending on how many miles you do, is getting a car with 20k+ on the clock. Its noted that before this the engines are still running in and are noticibly tighter.

I'll pass on your invite to John Nick. Come back to you.

The front brakes are the same but handed differently the backs on the 260 are larger.
