that looks like a very good deal, are the mintex pads good????, having never had to change the pads on any of my previous cars not owning them long enough to change they have always been on standard pads.

    Default Mintex pads

    Hi Gents

Having been quoted for £130 + vat fort rear pads from xpart - mine lasted 25k miles, I have gone the Mintex route and ordered some MDB1890NA Mintex pads from Questmead Ltd, Rochdale Tel: 01706 860088 or £15.88 per set +vat.

A quick search for Mintex on the Xpower site shows people such as "Thudd" have fitted these with no problems.

I also spoke to Questmead about the ebay link (below)

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ROVER-MG-ZT-T-...QQcmdZViewItem

which quotes MDB1888 and Questmead have those as a BMW part which make me supect these are for a "normal" ZT. Has anyone bought any?

BTW is there any point going to a garage with a disk skimmer and getting the disks skimmed first or shall I just change the pads - a job I can do myself?

I will let you know how I get on once I have fitted them....

    Regards

I've just had Mintex pads fitted to my rears with my new discs. Box had Lotus Elise on it but forgot to take down the numbers etc.

No problems on the way home, and no issues reported by the garage during fitting.

I just popped into an auto factor and asked for pads for the front of an Elise. I've had them on the rear for at least 6k miles now with no hint of a problem of any sort. They were around £17.

Just in case anyone hasn't twigged, the zwarehouse are selling a set of brake pads (front and back) every week on ebay, but only one set at a time.
I got last weeks for £56, the previous week they went for £77

So, on a good week, about half price

    Hi BigA

Good to see you last week! Sadly the ZT warehouse have not put up the pads this week and I was nearly down to the metal so I needed some PDQ, I will still watch out for some as spares for the future!

Hi Spunagain, good to meet you last week and no doubt we'll bump into each other around here (although not literally I hope!)

Re the pads, it's just typical that the week I mentioned it, they didn't offer any for sale! Perhaps they can see our forum? -Or maybe they've got their stock level down to demand level (these were all listed as "overstock")

    Cheers
    A
