If you are contemplating running a V8 then get the LPG conversion. Its only about £2.5k. I still pay around 50p/litre for gas and its easy to get hold off too. I reckon its paid for itself by now.
Running LPG also keeps the engine cleaner so you could stretch oil changes to 10k (still filter at 5k) to further save some dosh.
Insurance costs are reasonable too now that the Classic Car Specialist insurers recognise the V8 a classic. Phil
