Default MG ZT 260 SE - PBT saloon for sale

    Hi all,

Have been thinking about selling my ZT V8 and have listed out the details as follows:

    MG ZT 260 SE
    2004 chassis number #334
    Pearl Black (PBT)
    4.6 Mustang Modular V8
    FSH
    12 months MOT
    Serviced last month
    Mileage 127k
    2 keys
    Owned for 7 years

    Standard equipment:
    Electric windows Front and Rear
    Electric Mirrors
    Auto Wipers
    Headlamp washers
    Cruise control
    Rear Blind
    Traction control
    Limited slip differential

    Upgrades:
    Quad Xenon headlamps
    Heated front windscreen
Electric heated memory seats in Duotone leather
All dash lights converted to blue in order to match dials
    Blue light up kick plates
    Xtrons touch screen ICE
    MSD coil packs
K&N filter (in the standard airbox)

    Recent work including:
New aircon condenser and pump (ice cold)
By the end of May will have 4 new tyres and freshly refurbished Apex alloys
New brake discs and pads including the expensive rears
ABS module has been professionally repaired (common issue)

    Other information:
Private plate can stay with car (X12 was the development code for the saloon 260). Cost £700 from the DVLA.
No leaks in the boot or cabin!
    Headliner is in great condition
    Near perfect Highline IPK screen
    LED bulbs fitted
    Rear subframe is good

Not so good points - the body work has suffered with some patches of lacquer failure on the bonnet and roof and rust in the driver's side wing means it needs replacing (will come with a good second hand one in Trophy Blue). Has some stone chips and scratches due use which are consummate with cars this age and mileage. Rear window rubbers inside are just starting to corrode (common to all ZT's). Rear blind is also currently not working.

This is a great way to enter the ZT V8 ownership and while the mileage is high don't be put off as the car doesn't suffer from any of the usual running issues that this model can suffer from. Mechanically this example is in great condition and is a usable modern classic which can be insured with agreed value and limited mileage policies for reduced insurance cost. Also, as the car is registered in 2004 it falls into the lower tax bracket which is around £360 a year.

Always serviced and maintained at my local MG specialist British Legends. Car is located in Essex.

Any questions or for more pictures please ask (07957 258542).

Looking for £8000 or near offer.

Best of luck with the sale but I couldn't get anywhere near your asking price when trying to sell my car, I maybe wrong but you may want to have a think about your price. No offence meant, just going on my experience of selling my car

I do think the price is reasonable for what is included but I am happy to negotiate, hence "or near offer" in the description.

I just realised I know where you are! Go past yours often! , wondered if it were a 260 under there.

Free bump if not already sold? Just got off the phone to Steve to book mine in, sadly he is closing at the end of the year.

Hi Mark, ah you should stop by next time for a chat!

Yes it is still for sale but I am considering fixing the paint work and keeping her long term.

Indeed it is a shame that Steve is shutting down but he did say he was considering going mobile or doing limited work from his home.

Edit by David. Tom informs me that the car sold yesterday, 30/07/2023.
