Flipping heck it’s a small world. I remember Macrae & Dick, they later took over the old Elbar premises in East Rd but sold out to Parks a couple of years ago. The garage I use is owned by Macrae & Dicks service manager when they’d the Triumph agency, I’d a couple of 2.5 Pi and Jimmy often helped me with the test equipment

Smaller than you think Les! I was in the Air Cadets right thru the '70s. The two week summer camp one year was at Kinloss, exact year escapes me now. Went on a patrol flight in a Nimrod out of Kinloss and was lucky to be one of the few who also flew with a Shackleton patrol out of Lossie.

I was on 201 Sqn, check your log book, it could be even smaller. You could have flown on a jet I was on.

I still have my log books . . . . somewhere! I have a feeling they're in a box in the garage. You "landed" at Kinloss in '79, I suspect the summer camp was before then but can't say for certain without tracking the books down.
