Yes I don't think I'll be disappointed. For the sound level he just told me : "I only make the Zero Loud Quads", so I understood no sound level option ?
Anyway I told him that the car also serves me to take the kids on vacation so nothing TOO much loud (but it's relative think).

I had Kevin do me a pair of “ specials “ ..straight througs..empty boxes ..VERY Loud.

If you took the kids on vacation..with my Zero’s bolted on....the child protection squad would be waiting for you on your return ...

I understand. With this kind of setup, in my case, the internal child protection squad (my wife) won't let me leave

Whatever you may think (or not) about the effect that noise pollution has on the environment and the rest of society, the legal noise level in the EU, UK included, is 82 decibels, +/- zero (excuse the pun). Notwithstanding that, if the noise levels created as a result of modification or whatever, exceeds that of the original at type approval, then that's not allowed under law either.

Since the vehicle is technically not road-legal then, it probably renders your insurance invalid too.
Do you really want to go that road?

.... discuss (but quietly please !).

    Vehicle noise limits

There are limits to the amount of noise that vehicles can make on public roads. This applies to all types of vehicles.
In general, larger vehicles with bigger engines are able to make more noise.

It doesn't actually give the limit on the UK Government site, just says there is one

Edit: Doh, just realised Remi is in France anyway

David....I posted a light hearted Jest to Remi, with regards to the subjective loudness of my Zero’s .

I Don’t require your comments as to the possible rights and wrongs, in your opinion , of the volume of noise emitted from my aforementioned Zero’s ..from a “ Social morality “ stand point ..thank you very much . I find your remarks bloody rude, don’t you dare moralise and patronise me. like some self appointed Judge of my Character and actions....okay.

Also..the points re type approval / Void Insurance Etc are BS .

In David's defence Harry I didn't read his reply to you as an opinion on social morality but more of a light hearted comment regarding the legal standing of possibly infringing legalities. I often think it is more than helpful (although sometimes irritating I agree) for people to point out the pitfalls of some of our courses of action. Regarding the type approval comment unfortunately he is perfectly correct and the implications regarding invalidating insurance are sadly, as so many people will testify, all too true, insurance companies are all too keen to look for ways to avoid paying out on claims.
I really don't think he was trying to moralise or patronise but more to provide information...........anyway about those tyres......!

Thanks Nich. What I was trying to say, but you managed to a lot more eloquently !

The 82dB figure was taken from a Dutch breakdown of the EU regulations applicable.
I assumed, maybe wrongly, that EU regulations also applied to the UK in the matter, at least for the next few hours (/days/weeks/months/years) !

Sorry if I inadvertently offended some folk; obviously unintentional. Only trying to help !

I STILL feel guilty about our “ Tyre Wars “ posts Nich ❗️ There I was criticising your Continental Tyres recommendation..saying my Toyo’s We’re so much better...your Continentals were crap...ya boo sucks Etc ❗️AND..the Tyres I’d taken off ..were actually ..BRIDGESTONES ❗️❗️ It was only months later I realised ..my embarrassing cock up ❗️
Anyway..Toyo have changed the actual T1 Sports Tyres ..into the Proxy Sports now..and ruined them evidently ❗️ A new Compound. Terrible test results ..every test..nearly the lowest score ..in Dry , Rain, you name it ..road test conditions. A real shame..I need a new set soon..won’t be choosing Toyo’s again.

The new ( ish ) ....Continental Premium 6 ...Tires actually sound quite good ...I’m tempted ....Looked at some highly regarded German Magazine Tyre Tests ...on impressive Test Circuits...and they reckoned the Conti’s were the DB’s ...best handling on dry , best steering / cornering ..and won the tests ..ahead of the usual current Tyre Test hero ..the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 ❗️

Please look at my post re : Kwic Fit Tyres ...( posting tomorrow ) with regards to my Local Branch Managers Tyre recommendation for my 260:❗️ It’s hilarious ...actually ..it’s an insanely dangerous recommendation ..a Tyre Fitment suggestion...that would probably end up in my swift death...if I accepted his “ knowledgable expert’s “ advice ❗️
I would never ever but Tires from them anyway ..I was only checking prices. But it really was amazing..how useless they are ..starting from the Top down ❗️
