    Default Hot air

    Hi all
Recently purchased my first v8 260 zt-t (so new on here)
But I've noticed the climate constantly is blowing hot into the cabin.
Heard it could be a heater valve..?
Where is this valve and where can I get one plus is it an easy fix.?
    Thanks in advance
    Dave

Welcome along Dave. Congrats on being green but you were so quick getting the form back I doubt you noticed being blue!

We are currently waiting for new stock of RHD heater valves and I'll email you once they are in. Its tricky to fit if you have fat fingers as it is slightly bigger than the OEM one. When fitting you need to make sure the settings are correct before screwing tight. Other than that its old out and new in.

    Thank you Tim
No I didn't notice the green to blue lol.. Yes please let me know when heater valves arrive.
If it is the correct item is it by the pollen filter? As it looks new and going through the history has had one fitted??

thread on resetting, assuming its got a black olive valve fitted,

    https://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc26...valve-actuator

even if its had a new original style valve fitted the seals harden and leak even though the valve looks perfectly serviceable, and it only takes a sniff of hot water to make the cabin unbearably hot

Although I have a B-O valve, as most of us do, is that resistance value a good way of checking that an original MGR valve is at least (attempting to) close off correctly, or is that in some way different?

Its a long while ago since I developed my valve, but Im sure I used a good original valve to check the cold resistance and Ive used the same actuator so I would say yes.

Having said that the actuaturs are a bosch part and very reliable, unlike the valve itself which the originals were made in mexico, presumably from recycled bean cans

Hi, I also suffered with the inability to turn the heater off and last weekend fitted the black olive valve that came with the car (14 months ago!). The old unit was in a sorry state and with the valve driven closed, I could still blow through the port that connects to the heater.
I can confirm that the new valve is simple to install, the top tip from me would be to invest in a wiper arm puller available cheaply from Ebay. The valve works a treat with no more unwanted hot air. I think you?ll always get very slightly warmed air as the pipe run from the bulkhead to the valve and back may have some heating effect?
Thanks to blackolive, It?s really great that that someone made what must have been a significant effort to devise this solution and make it available to all.
