    Thanks David, good find. Most screens are now showing signs of age, replacement could be the way to go. Bit expensive but fitting included.

    I was lucky enough a couple of years ago to snap up one of the last few Mk1 Highline dashes that were floating around which fixed my screen issue for £100 (did take me 2 years to solve the traction control problem it caused though )

    But as even they aren't around any more this is very good to see that there is still the ability to fix the problem!

    I thought the end of the cable was just clamped down with a locking clip into a socket, not actually soldered onto the pcb?

    Unfortunately it is soldered on. If it were clamped down, those offering repair services would be out of a job

    A judicious application of heat to the ribbon cable connector on mine was enough to reflow what I understand is 'conductive glue' on mine, resulting in a clear display once more.
