I use Petronas Sytium 7000
I find the Opie Oils site really helpful. Just tap in your registration no. and the site will bring up a range of oils suitable for each model. You can combine the oil with the correct filter in what they describe as a service pack which should automatically include the correct volume of oil for the engine. They will often pop up on the site offering discounts if you are lucky. From the selection of oils they recommended I choose Millers Nano-Drive 5w-40 for No146's guzzle this year and ordered the filter at the same time. Easy!
Andrew.
Can I ask why you chose a different grade to that specified by MGR, 5w30, or Ford themselves, 5w20
US Ford dealers were instructed to switch to 5w20 at the next service if 5w30 was being used for the (stated) reasons of economy and improving start-up oil flow to the timing-chain area of the 2V motor which has a long feed (on one side?). You appear to be going in the opposite direction. Notwithstanding that, Zedtee/Steve's question is "what is the correct oil for 260", not what you or I may have chosen to experiment with, so, as SCP440/Steve says, that has to be a 5w20 grade oil anyway.

I am going to treat her to some Mobil (as recommended by MGR) 5W 20 (as recommended by Ford) and an MG filter :-) Thanks for all the pointers chaps.

Maybe he doesn't want to fork out £40 for otherwise useless MGOC membership...
Lots of benefits to MGOC membership including the hosting of this forum for free, as with all things if you choose not to use these benefits then it's a personal preference, they are available if required. I've always thought the point of a forum is the interchange of ideas, giving and receiving help. If you aren't a full member then it is quite difficult to contribute, you can receive but it's quite difficult to participate fully and you will continually be asking the same questions that have been answered many times before.
Nich.
