Yes exactly it makes you think, at £5k to £10K they are great value for money but when you start thinking about what you could buy for mid teens there a lot of choices out there.
I love the V8 engine with it lazy torque and sound but if you look at German build quality and maybe a Turbo or two and some electrickery they are a bit old hat. I was given a lift in a AMG 6.3 Twin Turbo a few weeks ago and the only word I can think of is Amazing, 0-60 in under 4 seconds, brakes so amazing it felt as if I was going to get a bruise from the seat belt and even a gizmo to make the exhaust sound different depending on what setting you put on the ECU.
Dont get me wrong I love my ZTT 260 but when you see what is out there even some Turbo Diesels will keep up with us.

How many know that the 260 was a project of Peter Stevens designer of the Maclaren F1 ??
Like any " antique " fashion is a powerful driver. The Frankel article is helpful.
Having paid 15k for mine I'm having to be ever hopeful that they will appreciate over time.
