    Default Broken sump

The sump met a rock the other day and I have a cracked sump.
I am trying to get a new sump through Ford ( might work) but more importantly I need to find a garage around Exeter that is capable of working on these cars.
The sump is a bit tricky to get out...
A bit of guidance will get me on the road scaring Audi's and Bm's Thanks

Sump on the ZT is aluminium and unique to our cars, it's not a Ford item. Try Scooter and see if he can help

I have one I can lend you. Then repair the original. (Yes they can be welded)

In 8 years I have had little luck with garages. Go to Austin's.

Although it is easy to lift the engine ???

I think Guido ("Kaizer") in South Africa could be beating a way to your door too! He managed to crack open his sump last month on a rough road. Set off the air-bag too and everything stopped. When I last heard he was trying to get the damaged sump off without removing the lump to see what if any further damage was done.

I am sending some pics etc to Ford and will let you know what happens.
From a first look it looks like you have to drop the steering rack and the subframe to get the sump off.
They really did not waste any space at all. the engine bay contains engine only no air.

Sending pics to Ford won't help as the sump, subframe and steering rack are specific MG part! Your better off talking to Scooter.

The sump is unique to the car due to the shape as it has to clear the steering rack, no other sump will fit.

The only sump I have would need the crack welded but will make a phone call may be some out there.
