    Default Cooling issues

I recently took my car to have the coolant fluid for the air-con topped up and was informed that the thermal exchange valve needed to be replaced before recharging the system. Does anyone have any experience of replacing this part. I am told it is in the heater matrix located behind the dash. The new valve is genuine Rover/MG so should function correctly. I just do not have experience of changing one.

It's explained in the 260 Rave manual, if it's called TXV valve, accessed and located in the plenum chamber, windscreen wiper mechanism has to be removed to gain access to the valve block, can't say any more haven't had experience of removing one.

Thank you for responding. Any information is welcome as this will be my first attempt at replacing the TXV valve. I will update this thread after I have made the attempt.
