    Default High Revs

    Hi,

I took the 260 out the other night and on the way back I noticed the revs were taking a while to return down to idle, also at traffic lights it was idling higher than normal.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so what was the cause.

Not had time to go out since so don't know if it has gone back to normal.

    Thanks in advance

You need to go green. the answer is in the info (somewhere).

The first thing I would check is for leaks in the intake system.

Then you should have full access. Send a PM to Tim to remind him.

Looks like a vacuum like. Check the hose from the PCV to the throttle housing. There is a soft plastic tube under the intake pipe that can go brittle.
Mine went at that tube and led to high idle after revving the car.

    Have a look here https://www.two-sixties.co.uk/mgoc26...936#post127936

    And welcome btw

Thanks for the replies. I will have a good check over the weekend.

Also on another note. I get a slight bit of water run into the cabin down by the bonnet release. Have checked the plenums at the bulkhead but appear dry, also carpet isn't wet. Tends to trickle in when I reverse down the drive. Are there common areas specific to the v8? Had a 190 before and always checked plenums etc but never had an issue with water getting into the cabin.

If you have a sunroof the drain may have pulled into the cabin.

Yes does have a sunroof. Where do the drains pass through the cabin? Apologies for all the questions. Will just help speed me up when looking.
