Default Grind my gears day, As anyone had this day!!!!

How you doing things have been how can i say grind my gear day.

Yesterday Marcus told that there are some escort MK2 doors in Conwy, Me wanting to help get the project complete I offerd to pick them up, Marcus gives me cash and fuel money to go and get them.

Last night I met Trevor who does a lot with classic cars as well Mg's as well. Meet him by the house and says the doors are at the lock up, I'm thinking it shouldn';t be to far.

So I follwed him to god knows where, Then get to a really narrowe road, a sort of road that eats front bumpers for lunch, The face expressions I pulled afterwards, you know its going to scrape and its the brace your self sort of look.

The noises were painfull to bare, but the hybrid did it, the next charllenge was going up a hill, yeah no problem after all the clutch system was replaced last year, Or no there's road works REVERSE REVERSE. All the way back down.

Back up the hill once again and few bends and shape turns later we made it to the lock up.

Got the messureing type and messured the doors,. to make sure there are Escort Mk2 doors, after learning that some people will put mk2 doors on ebay, but really there Mk'3s, people do this to increse the value of the doors. Well the messurements were bang on correct, there was a bit of rust, but it can be reapired.

I hand over the cash and its time to get them in, Me feeling proud and confident it will go in with ease, Oh no it didn't it was PANIC MODE. I thought it wasn't going to go in, but Trevor came up with an idea to tilt it backwards and silde through the boot, seats down and after a good push and lift tactics, it goes in.

But what about the other door, NO CHANCE IN HELL IS IT GOING IN.

So I arrnange to pick the passenger door the next day, Which was today a few hours ago in fact.

So I get up in the morning at 7am have a cupper and breakfest and I off I go to Marcus's workshop to drop off the door that I've collected.
I was on a time limit if I didn't arrive before 10:30AM then I i'd be buggerd to collect it today.

After waiting around Marcus turns up and we wasted no time in checking the doors out.
I shoot off and get the sat nav progammed in and off I go.

Traffic was light in Cfon, But towards Bangor and Conwy IT GOT WORSE and idiots come out to play.
On way there was a slip road on junction 17 and there was a women that I was overtaking and all of surdden indicator is on to join the over taking line, as I'm passing nicely, she starts tuning into my direction, I'm thinking she hasn't checked her mirrors or her sides, so in responsive action I pushed both the horn buttons at the same time, quite hard actually!!!!!!!!!!!, like if I was firing a full payload of rocket pods and mini guns!!!!!!!!!!. let her know my damn presence.

Off goes the indicator and she tucks back and I pass her and indicate back to the normal lane, there was a C180 Merc behind me good distance and the female driver pulls right front him and I can see the rage in his face and lights going.

    A real bitch.

apart from that the joueny was going well, hit cruise control and sit back and relax.
Making good progress and no rushing, till more road works apperd over night. They weren't there last night, today they were.
    DAMN.

After a while I arrived at my desternation AGAIN.

Met Trevor by the house and off we go to the lock up AGAIN.
We picked the other door and things were looking good.

Saw some Bucket seats in his workshop and asked how much he wanted for them, 250 for both and there Cobra as well.
Very nice and thinking of buying off him.

After the collection was done we shook hands and parted ways, off I go to the Marcus's workshop.
Get these damn doors outta my car. Yes I know I offerd to go and get them so it was my fault. Seat has a slight rip on them.

After a good drive road works road works road and more road works later I made to Marcus's workshop.
There was a customer there that knew Marcus really well.

As I bring the door in he shouts I've got set of Escort doors in superb condtion and reskinned. Ok why didn't you mention this before I thought, he knew that we had a project and says after we get a set of doors, which do need repairing and of a sudden he's got a set.

that has really cheesed me off. we were both were.

he does a lot with classics too, plus he lives very local to Marcus and yet didn't say a word.
I had a feeling that he didn't want us to complete the car, till his was up and running, his escort mk2 is in bits not even complete.

Still we got the doors and welding can go underway.

Its like someone having a V8 ZT, you know the guy and he knows you want one. and even tho he's selling, but hasn't told anything, makes you think why don't you want to sell it to me.

Its only example, but you get my meaning.

Its been one hell of a day, e-cig's gone out the window and pack of JPS and a cup of tea will do me nicely.

Anyone had anything like this before. ?

Nope think your two days are unique, The V8 would never have gone up the track.

    Oh shit.

Not quite its underneath the bumper more then anything, the hill was coverd in pot holes, there was no way to go around it, Trevor just bolted, I had to take my time and really steer left and right to avoid everything.

But the road being so narrowe didn't help matters one bit.
