Cars can be a pain in the backside, The hybrid has had quite a few jobs done I can say it was money well spent.
Am I going to give up when ever a problem occurs the answer
NOT A CHANCE IN HELL
THIS IS ONE CAR I WILL KEEP TO THE END
LONG LIVE THE ENTHUSIASTS
I think the cost of this project could get to be very high. The main problem is the cost of unique parts which will add up very quickly, to build a ZR190 race car is about £15,000 in parts alone and they are all off the shelf. Our ZT520 dampers cost £6000 its always better to buy a car that has already been built.
I understand where your coming from and yes it would be a lot easier, But the challenge is even more.
And when a challenge has been completed it makes it even more worth while.
Thanks for links Nich.
The time when I post on this will be the time when its fully completed.
Goals we set are goals we get.

I admire your enthusiasm but the cdti isn't the fastest diesel out there and even spending shed loads on it will never be, if you want to race a diesel pick one with high output to start with, have you ever been in one of the fast BMW diesels?
I am a number and that number is 88
To be honest the only Diesel I've been in is the Ford Mondeo Mk3 tdci, Ford Transit Mk6 and the MK7, The hybrid and my dad's Ranger rover sport 2.5 diesel.
That was the quickest by far, despite being a 4x4 and front heavy.
Hit sports mode and it went.
Cdti isn't the fastest, But I still want to give it a shot.

The rover 75 is to heavy and the bmw lump is not that good or easy to tune. I have a mg zs180 which is slowly being tweaked and added to on track days - I have fun and it's not that embarrassing. I met the mg cockshoot race cars at donington last July and the knowledge and help was superb and what it came across to me was just spend a little to start as your going to write it off as your experience is low. Then just buy other people's racers cars as they move up through the ranks it's the most cost effective route - the mg race series has excellent races for the Zr and zs plus mgf where you can tune the old l series lump cheaply and put on the slip dif from the brm or 620ti and its a pocket rocket. So moral of story just get racing and not get bogged down in car specs and parts - enjoy Alan

You might have more luck on one of the forums dedicated to the whole MG/Rover range rather than the specific Two-Sixties which is, by it's very nature, focussed on owners and prospective owners of MG 260/R75 V8 models specifically.
