The combustion material is too heavy, you need to increase the calorific value and size of engine by four cylinders.
Be interesting to see how it goes as some members also have diesels.

Some men see things as they are and say why - I dream things that never were and say why not.
Hiya all hope you don't mind but I've copied the convo regarding this from the enthusiast site, Carl and Tom made have made me think very hard about this, thge crankshaft is the main coucern, also mtorsport insuance and other things.
That's some really good info here, yes I will be getting a 2nd car other Rover Or ZT and yes it will be a diesel engine.
The crankshaft I didn't think of that, I thought the crankshaft could as a diesel engine parts are stronger to cope with a higher compression ratio.
I'll need to learn more abut the heart of the engine.
What I'll do if I find a crankshaft on ebay and get the numbers from that, I can send it to Keith and he'll give me the info on what the Crank is cable of withstanding. I'll post this information here.
Carl and Tom your input has really been helpful and thank you.
How you doing dave, we weren't able to race the Escort MK2 in the end, due to doors needed replacing, we did get a few tip off, but it tunred out that the doors has sufferd the same fate.
We had decline, but we still went up to watch, there was one car that stood from the rest and did really.
What was the do you ask.
It was a Rover
7
5
Very modified and it was a KV6 engine.
That's when I started thinking, what If I tuned my diesel engine?
What would I get and how would it do compare to other diesel engine cars.
Well that depends on experience of the driver, which he has none, only done a few track days on the 25 a few years ago In Angelsey, which I'm only 14 miles away from the track.
But Thank you all I'll take this really seriously and I;ll have more information in the near future.
How you doing Colin, Its a race event for diesel powerd cars and tuning enthusiasts, at the same time its also good for people who looking for drivers on the track.
This will give me some experience on the track, plus an idea on what I need out car as well.
I lack experience this is my first major project.
if all goes well with funding and buying parts, she should be ready.
If not then there's always next year.

Trying to find parts this is going to be a lot tougher then I thought,
This is what I'm going to do first
1 Braking systems, no point having a fast car when the brakes are dinosaur era.
2 Suspension for better handling.
3 Gearbox and clutch system, give me the grunt I need to pull in every gear.
4 Tyres, I've bought my ZT alloys which are being hydo dipped, Tyres are going to be Bridgestone very good.
5 safety equipment, things you need on the track and for car safety for driver and passenger.
6 Weight reduction, remove trim that slows the car down and fit it to either other 75 or ZT, If do get other the same space spec like my Rover then the trim can be slod to members.
7 Last and not least engine performance upgrades. Upgrades that will allow more fuel and air into the engine, plus cooling upagrdes and other major parts, LIKE THE CRANKSHAFT.
