    Default Autosock snow socks for ZT / RX8 / E46 M3 18" wheels

Anyone want a set of Autosock snow socks for their ZT? I no longer have my ZT but this weather has reminded me I need to get some for my new car and that I still have my old set in the garage.

    http://www.autosock.co.uk

Mine are 5 years old but unused. Bought them for an RX8 and kept them when I got the ZT as same tyre size.

They're around £60 new, I'd be happy with £30 for mine.

    cheers,

    S.

    Here's a link to a test Which did http://www.which.co.uk/cars/driving/...cks-explained/

As snow socks are fitted to the driven wheels, it's a bit of a problem with RWD. You get the traction but not the steering/braking control.

I think they're a reasonable option for FWD cars but feel safer with winter tyres on all 4 wheels.

I bought mine soon after getting my RX8 (rwd). Literally the day after getting the car I got stuck in the Yorkshire Dales for several hours, so I bought the socks as a "get you home" option. They take up no space in the boot.

Typically there was no more snow that winter and the following winter I had Vredestein winter tyres on which were superb. Night and day compared to summer tyres. Those tyres lasted long enough to do a winter of the ZT too.

I have used snowchains on many occasions in the past and would normally go for either chains or winter tyres but as an emergency option I think these will be OK. Not planning on a trip to snowy climes but given the unpredictable nature of the weather over the last few years these will just add a bit of reassurance as a 'get you home' option.

While you're at it get a set of these (or similar) for the icy pavements etc.)
