    I also used loads of wire ties to tidy up the washer tubes..

    I've gone the other way and replaced mine with a new item I found. But also added two additional fixing points to stop it sagging onto the engine parts. IMO makes the bay look smarter.

    I go on the basis that if they were trying to reduce costs and if the insulation was redundant they would have removed it to save money. Also being a light coloured car any colour change is going to look much worse on mine.

    I've got a new one to put on, Where did you put the extra fixing points?
