Default No 436 2004 MG ZT 260 SE Poseidon

I know I'm gonna regret this but here goes...

I'm selling my 260. It's an SE model finished in Poseidon. MOT'd 13 April 2013, taxed end November 2013. Although the MOT is rather short I know she'll pass and if I still have her then I'll put it through.

Less than 51,000 miles on the clock.

Usual SE spec with full black leather electric heated seats, hiline harmon kardon sound system with 6 disc cd changer in the boot, full electrics, traction control, cruise control, electric sunblind, auto wipers, xenon headlamps with power wash, powerfold mirrors, sunroof, illuminated sunvisors etc. Can't think of anything that's not been fitted.

Car is well known here having 2 previous forum owners as well as John Newey at Summit whom I bought the car from almost 2 years ago.

Body work is just how I bought it, no scrapes or dents, not even a parking ding. There's been a wee mark on the rear bumper thats been touched up at some stage in the past but rest of the paint is very good.

Only things I've fitted myself are a mustang horse to the lower front grille, towbar and the illuminated sunvisors.

Front brakes were replaced last year with EBC grooved and vented discs along with EBC yellow stuff pads. At the same time the drivers side brake caliper was also replaced. A handbrake compensator was fitted several months ago too.

Around the time of the handbrake compensator being fitted my mechanic noticed a large amount of water under the carpets. I removed the carpet and dried it out over many weeks and traced the water ingress to front sunroof drains. I followed a guide found on the 75/ZT forum clearing the drains and fitting a hose connector to the tubes to give a much tighter seal and now the drains are working as they should. Carpet was thoroughly dried before being refitted so one less thing for a perspective buyer to worry about.

I bought it with 41,000 miles on the clock and it had just been serviced for me. I then had it serviced at 46,000 which included new oil, oil filter and diff oil. I'd planned on changing the gearbox oil too but that never materialised. She's now due a service again and this will be done before selling. I'm awaiting the arrival of an oil filter before I take it to the mechanic. This time I'm hoping he will be in a better position to replace the gearbox oil.

The cooling fan no longer works. A new fan motor has been bought and due to arrive very soon so I'll be having my mechanic fit this too when its in for a service. I'll also have him fix the connector underneath the passenger seat to turn off the airbag light. It had been a problem pretty much since I bought the car but a clean up and reconnect cured it until I had to remove the seats to remove the carpet. Ever since then its been on constantly, though unplugging and reconnecting it does put the light off for a few days so I'll have the mechanic fix this once and for all.

Tyres are excellent having only been changed recently.

Wheels were painted black by John to try and smarten it up for sale and at the beginning I didn't like them but then they grew on me. Since then though the black paint has started to flake off exposing the original finish underneath. I'd planned to have the wheels fully refurbished back to their original colour but could never save up the pounds in order to make that happen.

What I've wrote above is a very accurate description of the car. Now time for the pictures:

Car is located in Northern Ireland. This may seem a deal breaker for most but I'm willing to collect anyone from Aldergrove airport and I live within 20 miles of either Belfast or Larne harbours.

Asking price is £7,000 which I think given the market is fair for a monogram car in this condition. This is a very reluctant sale for me and the only reason I'm even contemplating this is I've got a ZR now as a daily car but find now that the 260 doesn't get much use and I don't have the luxury of a garage to keep her in. I do still make a point of driving it at least twice a week but with rising costs etc it was infeasible for me to keep running it as a daily.

    Any questions please ask away.

    Thanks for looking.

Thanks Colin. Believe me if I can find a way of keeping it I will as I believe the chances of me getting another like it are slim.

Shame to see you selling, know whoever buys will have a real nice example of a monogram ZT V8 that's been owned by at least three forum members in the past

Yes Herman that is the case. I sold the ZR instead as I just don't think I could bring myself to sell it. Sorry for not updating here sooner.
