    Default High/line headunit problem

    Hi!

This thread doesn't have anythingto do with ZT/260 directly, but here I goooooo!

Firstly, I'm rebuilding aRange Rover 3.5 EFI Vogue from 88 (with just 27k miles on clock), and put someupgrades on it!

One of them is the ICE,based in two headunits from a Rover 75 Highline with satnav.

I bought a complete wiringloom, including all boxes, gps antena, and HK sound system, plus an extraAlpine Headunit from two scraped cars.

Why this units in a classicRange?

Whel, the 4:3 monitor suitsbetter in the Range Rover, plus the age of the headunit (first appeared in 95in the BMW E39 series 5 range) is closer to the last Classic Range (96), the K7suits better in the age of the car, and finally the price of them.

One headunit is for thefront, and the other one for the back.

But one of my problems isto put them working. I try to feed them (the headunit) with positive andnegative bat feed in the CO981 connector and doesn't do anything (9 and 15pins). I try it again in the same way directly in the C0959 connector (pin 1for earth and pin 8 for positive) and nothing. Just a little white flash light, and a little noise from the cassette mechanism. Do I need to feed it simultaneouslywith accessories feed in pin 7?

I?ll only fit them if theywork, so it´s worth nothing fit them if both of head units don?t work.

    Cheers, and thanks inadvance.

In my experience with these systems and this isn't extensive, you need to have everything plugged in and powered for the head unit to work. If you don't the signals and power don't get distributed correctly and it doesn't work. Also VERY IMPORTANT - when you unplug or disconnect the power from the sat nav disk drive, you have to wait for the red light to go out first. If you don't you can corrupt the firmware in the unit. Hope this helps. JB

Ok, thanks. Already try it a cousins home, and it seems to work, but need more than 10A to feed up all the system.
