    Default engine, gearbox and diff oil

    Hi,

    just to be sure that I use the right oil:

    engine 5,21 litre:

    Castrol Formula SLX Longtec 0-W30 with spezification

    ACEA A5/B5
    ACEA A1/B1
    ILSAC GF-2
    API SL

    not sure about Castrol EDGE FST 0W-30 with this spezification

    ACEA C2/C3
    API SN/CF
    MB-Freigabe 229.31 / 229.51
    BMW Longlife-04


    manual gearbox 3,8 litre

    Castrol Transmax Dex III Multivehicle gearbox oil

    Information on Engine, Gearbox and Diff Oils:
    Engine
    MG specified a 5W/30 oil meeting specification ACEA A3

    Dreadnought use Castrol EDGE 0w-30 and many follow this lead as it's supported by Dreadnoughts work with Sean Hyland

    Capacity Engine oil and filter change 5.7 litres


    Rear Differential
    There are only three oils available in the UK that have full sign-off for the unit. These are:-
    Mobil SHC80W140 id
    Castrol SAF-XJ80W-140 as originally specified has been replaced with Castrol Syntrax 75W-140
    Morris Lubricants Lodexol XFS 80W-140.

    Capacity 1.6l


    Manual Gearbox
    Dexron 111

    How to here - Gearbox How To

    Capacity 3.6 litres wet fill or 3.8 litres from dry

    I also think he may be Colin but I posted a response to a post of his on 2nd asking him join up so that he could access the full site to which he didn't respond. Obviously it's not high on his priority list but does mean that he is asking for information that would be readily available to him if he was a member.

    There was a press release from Ford that lowered the recommended gear box capacity to about 3.2 (Look for the thread). I went half way and put in about 3.4 litres.

    I think that the intend to join would get you started but Tim would need a membership number going forward.
