Seems to have a fair bit of interest which is encouraging.

Well you certainly can't be criticised for not trying, but are you not kicking yourself for t urning down a pretty good offer £5651 i believe
It might be rare but it is after all a Rover and a "D" cat one at that
Why not offer to throw in a free flat cap
    Good luck

As one of the bidders --- I held out some hope... its a lovely car.... but I have eyes for a ZT V8.... It would be nice to have both, but some sense must prevail...maybe!

Must admit, it was a good offer and a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush

I am suprised that the car even made as much as £5600 as its CAT D status knocks 30-35 % of a proper cars value and also its the less desireable Rover 260 version over the MG 260. so a £7k proper no drama car is worth around £4500 if CAT D

also if it struggled to make £5651 i dont understand the logic of starting a new auction at the last top bidders auction price of £5651. i cant see anyone wanting to bid now as its looks too expensive to start with and its not really an auction now !!

IMO - i would start it at £4000 and see how it runs or list as £5500 classified price with also an "offer" option button

I always thought that a 75 V8 would be more desireable than the MG ZT 260.
As Cat-D is more of an economical write-off than a technical one, I can't see why it would knock 30% off the price.

A car can be Cat-D because the paint job is a good 3k due to certain colours

From a trader's point of view certainly a bargaining point at P/X but when put on the forecourt for sale all of a sudden Cat-D is 'a minor accident that doesn't even appear on the V5'

Personally I think the car is worth at least 6K, regardless of the insurance marker.

I think £5651 is a good offer but would be surprised if CAT D status would knock a third off the value.

If that were so then an equivalent offer on this car would be near £8500 without the previous accident history.

I would have thought the Rover was the more desirable,I wouldn't expect an equivalent MG 260 to make that money,a tourer maybe not a saloon though.
