Cheers for the times and advice on here, the XK is a keeper, but a 'charged ZT-T could tempt me in the future sometime. Love fast wagons.....

I like your new toy. I still hanker (very badly) after one of those. I bought a lottery ticket last night...

I know the feeling. Always wanted one, in this colour and trim, and... and... I confess, my name's Jon and I'm an autoholic.

    Hi Ric
I too have an RV8,bought it in 2001
How do you find the 260 compares
I have to say, at risk of causing fury amongst the 260 stalwarts, I was a bit disappoined with the performance of my first 260 compared to the Rv8
I see you live in Salisbury. My daughter lives in Laverstock so we are there from time to time
Do you know Janspeed, I think they are on the Amesbury road
Last April a bunch of us from the 260s took our cars there for a session on their rolling road
It would be interesting for you to get the 260 checked out against the RV8. When we all went we got a special rate, but it's not all that expensive if you go on your own. Also it's an interesting place to visit if you've not already done so
    Best of luck
    Dave

That is at least four of us with the best of both worlds...RV8 and ZTV8 260. How many more I wonder?
ZTV8 gone...Lotus gone....RV8 now lives happily in garage with Matra Bagheera and Aston Martin DB7

You raise a very interesting point, and indeed I was wondering the same. the RV8 is more raw. the response to the throttle is more immediate, so it's more of an exciting drive initially. I wouldn't say i was disappointed with the 260. its far more of a relaxing drive that the very intense RV8. The RV8 is not what you'd call either comfortable or a relaxing car that is easy to drive.

I was disappointed with the 260 though when having a spin in her with my wife keeping up in the Merc right behind me. She was in the E350 CDI estate, and i expected to leave her standing, but she kept up with me in the acceleration up to the (sort of) legal limit. i know I could have kept on going and as we approach naughty speeds, the rate of acceleration on the Merc would lessen but the 260 SHOULD have kept on going. I stress SHOULD, I am a law abiding citizen etc...............

I know Janspeed, its next door to the Rugby Club at which i have spent many years teaching the youngsters of Salisbury the joys of the real "beautiful game." I'll take the 260 up there at some point.

For now, she is booked in to Bodytech in Salisbury to investigate the thrust bearing noise, weird heater, leaking boot and to quote for alloy wheel restoration. Re the weird heater thing, about which there is much on this site, it just seems bizarre that when the heating unit is off, heat is pumped into the car, but why only through the right of the two central vents on the dash. i am coming to realise that its best not to wonder why with these cars. the answer seems to be, it's what they do. Silly me for asking!
