Have you tried pushing a memory button? You might be lucky if you've previously stored a lower seat setting. I had a similar problem on my 827 Sterling - but I had to remember always to preserve the memory setting.
Thanks Peter but i haven't got memory seats,really wanted to know how to get at the switch/remove side panel.
