Yeah keep us posted Peter please, ill have a set too :) - premier have 21 sets available too according to thepart.com, but i dont know how accurate the details are?
he will probably knock 10 percent off but as Les is a god and he has just given me a heater valve plug Ive made an impulse buy and bought one at full price.
to be honest the shoes alone go for £99, this is a complete assembly- I wouldnt hang about if you want a set.

now to convince the missus it was a worthwhile purchase.
just purchased a set for £90 including posting, have asked if he can do that for the other club members.
SMC tradings offer for the club is £99 a pair including postage to the uk. Make sure that you contact them direct smctrading@aol.com and pay through paypal which is also there email address, had said that he's sold three pairs already.
oh, and thanks for the heads up.I had been browsing today and hadnt clocked that they were a full backplate assembly with shoes.
yeah indeed they are, got a prop shaft new in aswell, have asked if they are getting anything more in. Bargin given its complete with everything
Nice one, how do we go about ordering a set then, Just send a paypal payment through saying were from the 260's?
yeah send it to the address and put goods, etc and a quick description of the V8 handbrake assembly and from the 260's club.
thats what i did and asked and got it for £90, and asked for club members thus the £99 which is still a fair price.
Cool! yeah £99 is good, better be anyway just got a set :)
Many thanks guys:D
Are there any left ?
I checked on Ebay but the item is no longer for sale.
Thanks, Peter
An update on these, all paid orders including the orders through eBay were posted out this morning and should arrive on Monday - thank you ;)
After a quick count up I still have some more sets left, should you wish to order a set please email me first smctrading@aol.com , I will let you know if we have any left and give you payment instructions.
Thanks,
Les
Thanks Les, off work on Monday so will hang around. A nice find !!
Bought a pair and will replace along with the new rear discs as and when, was pondering the thought that would it be cost effective finding a company that could possibly re-line(or supply simmilar/like for like) the old ones doing away with the high cost of OEM items, only bought the complete set up as it was cheaper than the shoes alone.
Got some, very timely too!
What price are rear discs these days?
And where;s the cheapest place to get a MAF/Air temp assembly?
I've just bought a set too, so thanks for this thread!
Best price for discs is usually V8 Pete on here - drop him a PM
I ordered my handbrake assemblies on Sunday, they just arrived...Why the delay?:D
Cheers!!
Have bought quite a bit from Les and he's been brilliant each and every time
got mine yesterday, excellent service as always
Just one last set left, anybody want it before it goes on eBay?
Yes I would like it !
Will send you PM
Great , Thanks Peter
Now sold out - Thank You!:D
Thanks, mine arrived yesterday morning. Very happy, although my wife wonders why I'm buying things that may not be needed for quite a few years (all being well!). :D
Thanks for tip off about the rear barke sets - great service from SMC - mine arrived yesterday so now only need some illusive handbrake cables to make it all work. Big Frank.
Well worth getting a set as when you come to change your cables you will probably find you can't get the old cable out.
For those of you that have bought them you will notice a tube going through the expander back plate which is rather thin!
This is what the brake cable sits in and they rust to the point the cables seize
there is not enough metal to drill the old cable out as I have just found out :(
I now need two new backplates for my Diesel.
I did notice that and though " what a piece of poo". Who on earth has designed that to be used on the underneath of a car in Britan- lunacy !!
As this is a for sale thread I will continue this in the the tech forum
Mine arrived last week in Netherlands.
So one more box of spare parts in the garage. Very happy with the brakes. Brand new and very pleasant dealing. Thanks Less
Ps. Why not offer V8 stuff to us first, seems like most brakes went to us anyway?
