Advice on a project 260

Hi All -

A Mk2 05 260 with 60,000 miles has popped up on one of the selling sites, was a 260 members car with all the usuall upgrades (bar the heater) have been done, with up-rated throtle bodies and back boxes, only after £3000 but has suffered vandalism, keyed and dented but mechanically great.

I have a friend with a bodyshop so could be a cheap fix (famous last words !). Not sure if I can post the link ? I could afford to get this and have as a project, one to steer clear off or worth a look ?

Wonder WHY owner didn't get done on Insurance ?
Isn't an Insurance registered job off is it ?

I always wonder in these sort of cases WHY the owner hasn't got it done for his own sake, or to achieve a
better sale price !
Unless he's mega pissed off with the vandalism, and just wants to get rid !

If he's been driving around in it for awhile , since it was done, it could follow that he doesn't spend
money on general maintenance as a rule ?

Also, ideally get your bodyshop mate to check the damage out, or take some close ups snaps/ video to show him and
get him to price up what a full retail quote..for normal customer.. Would be.. so you can then work out if it's a bargain
or not !

No on my lists even though was a 260s member :). (we need a name or the last 3 digits of the VIN to see if we have more info.)
