Agree - and the rarest of all the R75 V8 Tourer - what I'm on the lookout for in the long term
It will be Two years on the 1st of September since I collected No 64 from SMC. I paid £5,350 for it via E.bay, I was told the reason it went to auction was they would not retail a car over 60k miles. It had done 61k.
Although they told be of on or two minor problems the one they did not tell me about I suspect was the reason it was auctioned. It is fitted with a tow bar and in cutting out the spare wheel well some strength has been lost, as a result there are two fatigue cracks in the boot floor, not a problem be there all the same.
Other than a full service, new tyres and fuel no major cost have been incurred in two years.
Other than to replace with a better example I cannot see me ever replacing it. (adding another maybe. Only another 30 years of driving it and I can match the gent who sold this one.
I would recommend keeping it.
Now on autotrader with pictures.
hope he makes it from there to here :)
If it helps - I paid £6950 last week for a prefacelift 04 1st regd car in standard SE form in immaculate condition with 29900 miles on the clock from a dealer with a warranty. I thought this was a reasonable deal and it will be used as an everyday car. However whilst it is immaculate and the Longbridge mechanic (who now runs an MG garage) who came with me to check the car in every aspect - thought it was well worth the money and bullet proof - it did have several owners - which yours doesn't.
