I think he's after an exhaust maybe?
While we are on the subject of exhausts I will need to replace mine this winter and wondered if anyone knew of the best quad type out there please?
Do you have standard exhausts ? Mine look a bit rusty from the rear but the boxes are still in good condition. And they passed the rather strict test of the Swiss expertise (that's contrôle technique for you).
The cars has 205,000 km. They seem surprisingly durable.

Yes they certainly have been, mine are 15 years old but only 72k miles. Exhaust's like to be hot all the time and cold/hot/cycle on very short journey's soon rot them out (from inside to the outside) due to the amount of water made with each galleon/litre of fuel burnt. Believe they are 419 stainless which is the absolute minimum with 316 the better bet for one owner cars.
If I manage to get a MGR set then another 15 years will see me out ;-(

Has anybody actually had an exhaust system or part of it rust through on one of these cars? The system on mine though a little rusty around some of the welds is still in good condition after all this time and close too 100k miles.
My guess it will be the catalysts that fail first or a lambda bung gets damaged removing a failed sensor.
Seems odd they used stainless on these cars but maybe there was a reason?

Mine is in surprisingly good condition, given it spent 3 years sat outside in Longbridge after they put 84,000 miles on it and broke the gearbox! In my limited sample of 1 car, now with 100k miles on it, the exhaust system seems to be pretty robust.
I do however have a pair of saloon back boxes in my loft that have been dry stored since 2006 when i bought the car if anyone needs them.
