Steve has looked before but lack of space is the main issue
they dont fit our cars.
That's the internal one. Found down underneath the glovebox somewhere iirc
Yep' thats the same one thats fitted in my car, Just ripped the dash and heater box out just to confirm ......... not really, just put the part no and my chassis no
into the parts programme and it confirms that that is the one fitted:)
It's strange when looking at Rimmer's the LHD costs £65 but the RHD costs £350?
I can buy 5 lefties for the price of one RHD!?
Anybody know why?
Yep - they're ripping us righties off
I believe there are 2 different styles of heater boxes fitted to our cars (Dependant on chassis range/day of the week/how many cups of tea the foreman had drunk before lunch...........!).
As I've had the pleasure of having my heater box completely out of my '04 car (), this type of heater valve assembly is not fitted as the left/right blend valve is just another of the plenum valves fitted on a different shape bracket.
So, I can only assume that maybe some of the cars (Earlier/later chassis range?) had this ebay advertised style valve fitted. This could explain the price difference with this ebay setup being considerably more expensive than the single valve option fitted on my car.
if they were ever fitted, they were only fitted to the latest cars, and would require different pipework to fit.
perhaps MGR woke up to the fact that the tin valves were shite.
If you are lucky enough to have one of these later valves fitted ( and they are only fitted in the inside of the car as the distribution valve) I would suggest you dont need one as a spare, as they look a better bet than the tin valve.
It MAY be possible to make one fit an earlier car, they fit with the servo motor facing into the heater box, but would require pipwork rearrangement to fit.
the 260 manual shows the heater box fitted with the tin valve.

look at page 80.
Is there a need to " black olive this distrinution valve", Scooter did offer to lend me a heater box as a test bed.
