I have put this in the "Public Section" as I think everyone should know about this.
It is about Mototcycle Insurance but will be the same for cars.

woah thanks for that. I never would have thought that would be the case. I guess if you have or do buy something else and swap your insurance to the new reg then I guess you will also be OK.
Thanks for the warning Andy. However I personaly have never and would never do this, in my experiance most insurers will give you the year if its only a short while untill the renewel date. As this person has found out its just not worth the risk.
Bleeding'ell !
I would do the same no point increasing your risk with someone you don't know. Easy to say in hindsight. :(
I'm going to put this on the blog if you don't mind Andy. What mag did you get it from so I can mention them.
Which one Andy? Also can you e-mail the jpeg please :)

A few years ago in a similar situation my bike insurer at the time was Norwich union and when I sold my bike I was allowed to suspend my insurance without cancelling and restart it when I bought a new bike so I did not waste any of my policy cover. However in those days it was a rid policy so it was the rider not the bike that was insured so you could ride any bike, how things have changed.

Really must cancel the policy on the van I sold ages ago now....
One of those things I always meant to get round too. I have a new priority today now!
