hi all, every now and again some of you post links to photos on the forum here, and when i click on the links of interest to me, i get the following message:
cris_19010689, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
Anybody got any clues on how to sort it out? as i would dearly like to see the pics you are posting. cheers :)

maybe you only have access to the public section of the forum?
Contact Tim for full access (you will also need MG owners Club membership)

well even in the "for sale" section, i cant see the images. I have joined the forum as I am looking to get a 260. I can't get temporary insurance on one till im 23 (which is 1st june 2012). i have joined here to get ready to learning information and tips etc on the cars pre-ownershp. surely i don't have to have an mg 1st in order to have full priviledges?!?!?!

Well thanks for the replies guys, but in fairness I think its a bit naff that I cant even see images of vehicles in the "for sale" section as a prospective buyer...or is that just me?! lol I can see the point about not wanting posts filling with useless info - there is enough of that on the mini forums with bmw mini owners telling classic mini owners how to fix problems when the two cars arent related in anyway...but still - how are the sellers on here supposed to get maximum sales potential if the users who don't already have an MG can't get access to images of vehicles which may potentiallly be of interest??

You have well answered your challenge. This site is the best I have registered on.
Most of the cars for sale and wants are put in the public section.
If the image is not viewable, it is due to the quirks of the site with thumbnails and the image source.
We normaly pick up on this and re-post to view by all.
Just post in the thread you have a problem with.

Hi Chris,
I think you should be able to see photos of cars for sale in the public section. The full privileges thing is just part of this site as is the MGOC membership. Ask any question and it will be answered mate. Normally within the day, so please do not take umbridge with not being able to see all the site.

You should be able to see pictures in the for sale section cris. What are you getting? Small pictures/no pictures/text path

i thought it may be due to my account needing final confirmation or something but i have been registered on here for quite a while now. i'm not really taking umbridge, as i don't own a 260 as yet, but come june 1st 2012, my hunt will be being taken seriously and then, i will be hoping for full ability to view pictures on here :) so just thought i would raise the issue now to see if anyone else has the same trouble and if so, how to get it fixed :)

tried logging out then going through the forums as if i were a "public" user. clicked on the link to an image and it asked me to log in or register. i logged in and got the same message as before - don't have sufficient permission etc...

i'm not interested in any particular car at the moment as i cannot get insurance and the main thread is just the for sale section of the site. if i try to view images posted within this thread however, this is where the problems arise. I am using the latest version of mozilla firefox as my browser but this shouldn't make any difference should it?
if the issue can't be fixed, its no biggie...i shall just have to live in the 260 forum world with just of text and no pictures :(

no, i can't see the picture. I can get the link to the car on the pistonheads website but not the other one. in post #19. i have registered again as a new user, thinking this would solve the problem but it hasnt. i wanted to view the pictures of the car in the for sale thread "for sale.......mmmmm - but not sure" by the user "precious metal" but can't see them :/
