Hi there,

some of you know that I am looking for a supercharged ZT.
Meanwhile I found out that there are different types of chargers.
So it may be interesting what the differences are in price and power.

Dreadnought you get in scotland for around 7500 GBP fitted.
Kenne Bell, I saw 3900 USD? I think thats the kit without any work.
And Roush? Where to fit it and how much is it?

What are the differences in behaviour and power?

Thanks, Thomas

Dreadnought fit Kenne Bill kit with their own mapping - result I think is 420bhp?

Roush is the stuff MGR were going to use 385bhp

oops, yes, at dreadnought they write it is the kenne bell. But they have their special mapping, don't they?

And for the roush, you need a special mapping too, right?

The Roush engines all arrived pre mapped by Roush for MG, However, there are now none available. You may be lucky to find a Roush S/C for sale, Stal 108 had one for sale but I think that went to a none 260 owner via ebay. Linden has a very nice ZT 385 Roush Supercharged car for sale now for 12K. Get that and you will have one of only 6 available.
You may think 12K steep, but £7500 to £8500 for a supercharger then 6K to 8K for a car make 12K cheap. If you have the money buy Lindens.

I think that Linden has the only Roush charged car with the correct mapping.

You can go and get a Kenne Bell from Sweden and it comes with a chip for the J3 port of the EEC-V ECU.
Again, it will run and pass MoT with it, but is not optimised for the MG.

When I bought mine I was buying the blower conversion and got the car free, well that is pretty much what the sums added up to :)

hi,
thats correct
it came from one of the mg-rover prototypes ,bought from brian at dreadnought.
give him a bell he knows all about my engine and the mapping for it,
with other mods to engine that i have done then i would be suprised if its not 400 hp-plus 19mpg locally.
thanks

Sounds great, but comes once in two years, I guess. That is why an other Mk2 ZT260 SE would also be nice now.
Btw: Kenne Bell says that their TS1000-99 does not fit our V8's, or they just don't know it better.

Whats about the ECU, do we have the same ecu (hardware) in our V8 than the 2V Mustang (96-2004?)

And here is an interesting discussion about combining the TS1000-99 with intercooler or not:

Anyone with intercooler here? ;)

This charger should also fit our engines:

Lots of questions, I know, but this field is new to me

I'm sure Brian will come along to correct me but as far as I know the conversion uses a TS1000-99-INT
All Brian's conversions have intercooler

The ECU is a Ford EEC-V which is the same as in the Mustang but with a different tune (believe it was done by Roush) for the ZT

As far as other chargers go, anything that fits a '99-'04 4.6 2V will bolt on to the engine we have. This doesn't mean it will fit the engine bay though

Hi Herman,

you mean the stock ZT260 tune was done by roush?
And are there some pics of the intercooler in a charged ZT?

Tom

thank you for information. Are there pics from a mounted intercooler too, Andy?

Cheers, TOm
