Ok hears one for any electronic wizzos out there.
I have a samsung 50" plasma tv. 2 and a half years old. Worked perfectly until two nights ago. Then I turn it on and no picture at all, sound fine, just no picture on any source. Not even a flash from the set.
Any advice before I go down the V expensive call out route guys would be very helpful. Thanx one and all.

Sounds like a power supply issue (but not exclusively). I had a problem with mine (LCD TV) but seems Samsung used some cheap capacitors in the PSU. Managed to repair myself, otherwise expensive excersice.

Do a google and have a read

Psu, I presume is the board that switches the screen on. Yes I've had a look the other night and that seems to be the consensus too. If I know what part is buggered I can do it myself. It's just finding what part is kaput. Thank you very much for the link.

I have just had to replace the capacitors in my sons Samsung monitor which had the same fault.
Two of the capacitors had bulges on the top.
I replaced all of them for good measure.

Do not swear in my presence. Those photons have never crossed the screen. Lol
