Need at least 1 coil for the V8, would ideally like to buy three or more if anyone has one for sale?

Car is currently abandoned away from home and am quite keen to retrieve it!

It has a least number 4 out (as this registered on the comp as a misfire according to the RAC!)

Hi,

Sorry for being stupid but are the Coil`s the same as the injectors ?
Regards

Nige

The COPs are on top of the Spark Plug.

Instead of a single coil feeding a distrubutor cap and this the spark plug via HT leads, each plug has it's own coil

Think I have sorted some:

Have two coming, hopefully tomorrow from:

http://www.usautomotive.co.uk/

They had some in stock and are £29.99 each.

Thanks for the info and offer of assistance!

I am pretty much stranded so I am hoping the two will come tomorrow and I go down to the car which is about 3 miles away and swap it over,

Is it difficult?

I am guessing it is one screw/bolt and then pretty much pulls out?

Assuming nothing much is in the way which it might well be! :o

Two coils arrived in the post today, got them from these guys:

http://www.usautomotive.co.uk/

The lady on the phone new exactly what I was talking about even when I mentioned the MG and they came extremely quick so a big thumbs up from me!

The local MG garage took a while to cotton on initially offering me a single coil pack for £140 (when I say 1, in that they thought the car only had one) and then on investigating deciding that they couldnt supply this part at all, have they no imagination!?

Anyhoo, went back the car tool kit in hand and swapped over the number 4 coil, which incidently is probably one of the easiest to do, only had to unscrew the fuel rail mount to get a little more room, but no need to remove anything.

Got it in and car fired up, was a bit wobbly but then was fine, engine light went out too and it is running fine again.

Got a spare now too!

Tested the other 7 and they are all okay.

Thanks for all the replies on here.
