...will shortly be out for the spring with MOT due in April and the next 5K service soon after that.

My dealer health check at 35,000 miles reported that;

1) Spark plugs - 'replace every 6 years or 90K'

£9.97 each but only available in a 10 pack - are they serious?

2) PCV valve - 'replace every 6 years or 90K'

No mention on the service schedule - what's this?

Cheers

Tim

I am sure the advice on here is not to bother replacing the PCV valve

sounds like rubbish regarding only available in packs of 10. If you want to replace them, then maybe source them yourself.

However, I would say that unless you have any signs of misfires or rough running that may be attributable to spark plugs, then Id run them for much longer as you only have relatively low miles theres probablyu plenty of life in them yet.

maybe pull one out yourself and take a look. Mine still looked chipper after 87k :)

I would also suggest unless they are a trusted dealer with good insurance, not to let their spanner monkeys anywhere near the spark plugs. they will end up filling the bores with shite and stripping the threads.
