for sale:
Pearl black.
I am second owner from new, full dealer history & then MG specialist history in my ownership. (Austins)
82k on clock ( may go up slightly as in daily use)
6 month tax and test
I have owned since May 2009 only selling as i need something a bit more economical & practical for carrying bicycles & using as a camping wagon.
Work done since i have bought it:
new spark plugs
fuel filter clip
upgraded horn
upgraded fan resistor
upgraded heater hose
replaced heater valve ( MG original - i have a spare new one to besupplied with car, bought two at the time)
new pads and discs all round ( front and rear pads & discs) & new brake fluid
new clutch done at Austins - various work done here all documented on bills, including air con regas
Mustang MG badges front and rear
K&N filter
Zero exhaust back boxes ( i have stock back boxes that will come with the car, however are blowing a little and would need a slight weld if you wanted to re-fit them)
serpentine ( is that the correct word?) belts and a pulley renewed
new internal V8 badge on dash
oil changed on the button - every 6k

Car came with a full size spare & fitting kit ( reciept for around £400 when brought new from dealer) this wheel was refurbished after i bought car, its had a tire fitted - never been needed so far so unused.

I have a set of new wheel trims - the inners for the alloys. Still in the bag.

Mont Blanc roof rack to come with car - bought second hand but never fitted to the car

Front tyres - just over a month old (stock size)
Rears - six month old max, loads of tread left (bigger size rears)

Black full leather - all in excellent condition

PM me for pictures, will try to get some up asap.

I am looking for £6125 ono

Thanks for looking

thanks herman,
first four were in the summer last year just after a valet, last five were taken yesterday morning - as you can see car was a little damp due to the weather & dew. On last picture it is dew on the bonnet not a paint issue!!

Looks like a great car. All the work you have had done must be pushing close to £3000. That's money whoever buys the car is not going to have to spend.

I will miss it. I have made quite an extreme change. 2003 Fiat Multipla 115 Diesel!!
So it should be good for 55mpg :D and will take bikes in the back without taking wheels off or putting seats down. I wanted something i could carry the bikes inside + carry camping stuff. 260 just doesnt have the room.
Does feel totally gutless after the 260:(
Quite odd looking, for me its more of function over form on this one, although someone at work did comment this morning " have you ever thought about buying a normal car......."
history of cars is:
ford capri
fiat cinquecento sporting
volvo 460
Proton thing that lasted a week
nissan micra
Vauxhall cavalier diesel
Citroen XM
Mitsubishi sapporo
Mazda mx-6
Saab 9000
Volvo 480
Alfa 146 ti
Volvo S40 T4
MG ZT 260
some were pretty normal.......:)

also have new alloy inners - wheel caps ( still in bag), car had new locking wheel nuts fitted after i bought it. Open to reasonable offers as now have other vehicle.

there are a few minor bits that are needed - that i can do or negotiate price accordingly with buyer:
oil change due in about 600miles
one of the fronts has lost a weight since they were fitted - noticed a wobble on motorway yesterday at about 70, needs rebalancing
passenger sidelight and fog light bulbs are out - i was a bit hasty with the screenwash when topping up ( it was freezing!)
I would probably get the car tracked again (as i am fussy):o

thanks

yeah I was wondering that, as I thought mine was olive black but now I think of it it must be olive green as its defo more greeny than this one, although looks almost black on first inspection

It has a purple to it, so assumed that would black olive. Any suggestions?
Happy to take advice if not correct

Get the paint code from the passenger door pillar plate, should be three characters IIRC, then it can be confirmed!

Not really - just a combo of things - fuel prices being the main one! also, it's such a volateile market - for example there is a Rover 75 V8 from a dealer (so benefit of warranty etc) with just 21k on the clock for under £5.9k

Herman

Can you SORN it and keep it?

Seems a shame to sell in a market that doesn't really appreciate the car for what it is.

chopper666
02-02-2011, 01:48 PM
I dont have anywhere to keep it, to consider putting it on SORN. Plus renovating a house to funds from selling MG would make a substantial contribution to addressing the work required.
Am i a bit rich on the price front then?

Trying to sell a V8 at the moment is a living nightmare.............Mines been on ebay 3 times now, sold once at a very low price and even then the buyer walked away....

Mine needs to go as I have no where to keep it, I can't afford to use it as a daily car, and I can't afford to lay it up.........

I'm praying for a lottery win as my saviour.

Sorry if I've put a downer on it......but I'm really hacked off trying to sell mine, as I really don't want to.

My advice is, if you can keep it without driving it, try to and wait till things pick up later on in the year..

It is difficult selling at the moment. Mine too has been on ebay three times and not sold.

Saying that though, i have had alot of interest.

Mine is currently advertised for the absolute minimum i will let it go for. I am close to the point where any potential savings i had hoped to make by getting something more economical are lost.

I may do what has been suggested and talk nicely to my sister (who has an empty garage) and buy myself a cheep runaround for a while.
